Major initials facing miniatures on burnished gold grounds with full borders; 2-line initials in burnished gold with floral sprays; 1-line initials within text in gold alternating with blue; jig-saw line fillers. Miniatures mainly on inserted singletons, 5 (?) missing.
binding
Blind stamped calf, 15th century, decorated with a panel of the Annunciation and signed with the letters WC as used by William Caxton and Wynken de Worde. Fore edge clasp with missing strap, clsoing from bottom to top.
