Her research incorporates a range of topics in the broad area of early Christianity, most especially the Coptic texts of the Nag Hammadi Codices, where she has focused on the production and reception context of the manuscripts and what this reveals about diverse early Christian reading practices. She has also worked on paratextuality in New Testament and other early Christian manuscripts, co-leading a project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council on an important fragmentary majuscule of Paul's letters (GA 015) and the wider significance of its annotation system (https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=AH%2FX001458%2F1#/tabOverview). Kimberley is currently writing a monograph on the Gospel of Philip for Cambridge University Press, as well as a short volume on the Nag Hammadi Codices for Cambridge's Elements in Early Christianity series. She worked for the Judaism and Rome project between 2015 and 2018, after which she held teaching and research positions at the University of Glasgow (2021 - 2022) and the University of Durham (2018 - 2021).
