Display name: Bibliography of Individually-owned Book and Library Inventories
Description: BIBLIO aims to be a cumulative digital catalogue of all known inventories of private libraries in the age of Enlightenment (1665-1830). This international “union catalogue” holds the potential to become an indispensable bibliographical tool for future research into 17th and 18th century private book ownership in Europe and beyond. It includes bibliographical information regarding these booklists and some prosopographical data on the owners of the libraries they describe. Its most unique feature is the inclusion of the location and state of surviving copies of the booklists.
Copyright: BIBLIO is funded by the AMMODO KNAW award, Humanities.
